Les 100 ciels was born in 2009 and since its launch, it has grown to having 12 stores in the Far East. The French designer behind the brand, was inspired by the term ‘ The hundred skies ‘ from Chinese poetry, and translated this to ‘les 100 ciels’, which also means essential in French pronunciation. 

The metaphorical meaning and inspiration of ‘Les 100 ciels’, is the sky: consistently there and the same, yet always changing (like an essential product).

Les 100 ciels celebrates and is inspired by simplicity and the beauty that can be found in nature, using natural high quality yarns such as cashmere and linen as the core.  Collections are focused on versatile, easy to wear garments where comfort is at the heart of the design. Pure and delicate, the collection is the epitome of relaxed luxury.

How did you get into design?
The les 100 ciels design team is a spontaneous Paris based team made up of a combination of maturity and experience and the freshness of young assistants, the common point is that we are all passionate by designs, quality and finishing!

Why cashmere?
We have a wealth of experience of working with cashmere and as a vertical company we have control all the way through to the goat farms. Due to this we are able to create the highest quality cashmere, at unbelievable prices. Cashmere is part of the Asian apparel market and we all love it because of its feel, we expand on this to provide luxurious cashmere in fashion forward cuts.

How do you work, what’s the process of design?
We start everything with the yarns and fabrics; we select qualities and choose colours per quality. We then imagine and create the right shapes based on classics with a twist for modernity.

What is your favourite piece from the AW collection?
The big hood neck sweater in heavy cashmere, that is a master fashion and protecting piece for the cold winter!
